Proposed Itinerary

May 24 USA - Tel Aviv  
  Depart for the overnight flights to Tel Aviv.
May 25 Tel Aviv - Overnight on the Mediterranean Coast  
  Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. Meet your local guide who will escort you to your Private Motor Coach and transfer to your hotel on the coast. Dinner and overnight.
May 26 En route to the Galilee - Caesarea, Mt Carmel, Stella Maris, Cana, Nazareth, Basilica of the Annunciation
  Today you will travel via the coast to Caesarea, where the Romans held Paul prisoner. Visit the Roman and Crusader ruins. Drive through the Carmel Mountains heading for Galilee. In Haifa, visit Stella Maris, a Carmelite Monastery with the Madonna of Mt Carmel. Continue to Mukhraka where Elijah confronted the false prophets of Baal and where the Carmelite Order was started. Drive to Cana, the village of Jesus' first miracle of changing water into wine; here couples may renew their wedding vows. Continue to the Basilica of Annunciation in Nazareth where the group will celebrate Mass and visit Mary's Well and the Church of the Angel Gabriel. Dinner and overnight in the Galilee.
May 27 The Ministry of Christ in the Galilee: Tiberias, Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Mt. Beatitudes, Caesarea Philippi  
  Enjoy a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to see the synagogue and St Peter's house. Visit the Mount of the Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount was given, and have Mass overlooking the Sea of Galilee in the background. Continue on to Tabgha to see the splendid mosaic about the miracle of the loaves and fishes, and to the nearby Church of Peter's Primacy where Peter was told " Feed my lambs, feed my sheep." In the afternoon visit Caesarea Philippi, location of the testimony of St. Peter and where Jesus answered him “You are the Rock and upon this rock I will build my Church.” Dinner and overnight at your hotel in the Galilee.
May 28 Meggido (Armageddon), Mt Tabor, Sepphoris, Jerusalem  
  After breakfast, travel through the Jezreel Valley to Meggido (Armageddon) which is mentioned in the Book of Revelations as the scene of an apocalyptic battle between good and evil. Continue on to the summit of Mount Tabor, a dome like mountain where Jesus was transfigured, and where Moses and Elijah appeared with Christ, talking to Him. Here you will have Mass. Then proceed to Sepphoris and the Nazareth Village to see what life was like in the time of Christ. Drive down the Jordan Valley, and head towards Jerusalem. Upon arrival we will visit the Ecole Biblique, a world renowned center for biblical study and archaeology. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Jerusalem.
May 29 Stations of the Cross, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, St Anne’s Church, Ecce Homo, Western Wall, Upper Room, Dormition
  Early in the morning the group will retrace the last steps of Jesus. Then walk along the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrow), through the markets of the Old City stopping at the Flagellation Chapel and the Chapel of Condemnation, praying the Stations of the Cross, reflecting on the greatness of His sacrifice, arriving ultimately at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. After time for prayer, continue on through the Old City of Jerusalem to the Western Wall of the Temple. Nearby is the Dome of the Rock and the Haram al Sharif or Temple Mount. Visit St. Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Jesus thrice, visit the Church of the Dormition and end the day with Mass in the Upper Room at the Cenacle, where the disciples gathered with Our Lord for the Last Supper, and where they were filled with the Holy Spirit and received the gift of Tongues on Pentecost. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Jerusalem.
May 30 Jerusalem and Bethlehem - Mt Olives, Church of Visitation, Shepherd’s Fields, Church of the Nativity
  This morning we will ascend the Mt of Olives and take in the dramatic view of the Old City, giving us a better understanding of the geography and some of the key sites surrounding the area. From this vantage point see much of what makes Jerusalem such a unique city to the three major religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Then head to the village of Ein Karem, the birthplace of St John the Baptist and to the Church of Visitation where the Blessed Virgin Mary visited her cousin, Elizabeth, and proclaimed the 'Magnificat'. In the afternoon we drive to the Shepherd's Fields where the angels announced the birth of Jesus. Then visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem that stands upon the site where Jesus was born. Here we will have Mass before returning to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
May 31 The Passion of Jesus' Last Hours: - Bethany, Dominus Flevit, Gethsemane, Cave of Betrayal, Cave of Assumption, Pater Noster
  Begin our day with a visit to Bethany where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Then onto the Mt. of Olives to walk the Palm Sunday route stopping at Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. Then to Gethsemane, the Rock of Agony where Jesus prayed His last prayer before his arrest. Have Mass here in the Church of All Nations, then visit the cave of betrayal then the cave of Assumption of Mary to heaven. Back on the Mt of Olives we visit the Pater Noster with the Lord’s Prayer in many languages, and the Ascension from where ascended to Heaven. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Jerusalem.

June 1 The Wilderness: Jericho, Mt Temptation, Jordan River, Dead Sea
  Begin with early Mass inside the Holy Sepulchre, at the Empty Tomb. Then travel through the desert east of Jerusalem which is rich in Christian tradition. Just off the Roman road that Jesus 'walked', is Wadi Qelt gorge, site of the Monastery of St George. At the oasis town of Jericho, visit the excavations of the oldest city in the world and view Mt. Temptation where Jesus fasted and was tempted by Satan. Afterward you will travel down along the Jordan River to a place where John the Baptist baptized Our Lord. Here we will renew our Baptismal Vows before continuing on to Qumran to see where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. From here you travel along the Dead Sea and take the cable car up to the site of the ancient fortress at Masada, which is situated on the top of the mountain. Stop at the shores of the Dead Sea before returning to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
June 2  Jerusalem – New Orleans  
  Early transfer to Tel Aviv airport for return flights to the USA,

 or to Paris for an optional 6 day Pilgrimage Extension to France!

June 2 Jerusalem – Paris
  Early transfer to Tel Aviv airport for your flight to Paris. Upon arrival we will be met by your Catholic Journeys Tour Escort and transfer to the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal. Here we will have Mass and view the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Labouret whose guardian angel led her to the chapel where the Blessed Virgin displayed a vision of the miraculous medal and later the green scapular. The Virgin promised bountiful graces for all who wore these. From here we will walk to the nearby church of St. Vincent de Paul, where we will see and have time to pray before the saints incorrupt body housed in a glass reliquary behind the altar. Afterward we will check-in to our First Class Hotel. Dinner and overnight in Paris.
June 3 Full Day in Paris  
  Begin with a panoramic tour which includes the Eiffel Tower, L'Arc de Triomphe, the Bastille and the Champs Elysees, ending at Notre Dame Cathedral where you will visit the reliquary containing the relics of the True Cross. From here you will walk to La Sainte Chapelle, famous for its magnificent stained glass. Built by Louis IX, this gothic style chapel was built to house relics such as Christ’s Crown of Thorns. There will be time for lunch, before gathering at the Louvre for a guided tour where you will see famous works of art such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Originally built as a fortress and later becoming the Royal Residence until the completion of the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre now houses one of the world’s most impressive collections of art. This evening attend the Vespers at the beautiful Basilica of Sacre Couer followed by Mass and dinner in Montemartre, the artist’s quarter which overlooks the City of Lights. Overnight in Paris.
June 4 Versailles – Chartres  
  Begin with a visit to the Palace of Versailles, the most famous château of France! Commissioned in the mid-1600s by King Louis XIV, the Roi Soleil (Sun King), this masterpiece out-dazzled every other royal residence in Europe. Enjoy a guided tour of the Grands Apartments and the Hall of Mirrors, with some free time to stroll the stunning French-style gardens, designed by André Le Notre. After some time for lunch, we will make our way to Chartres, former pagan sanctuary that was evangelized in the fourth century and became a pilgrimage site in 876. In this year, Charles the Bald gave the town the tunic that tradition says was worn by the Virgin Mary while giving birth to Jesus. The 13th century cathedral is literally a Bible in stone, with over 4,000 sculpted figures and 5,000 figures in the stained glass windows, illustrating the Bible parables and the lives of the Saints. Here we will have Mass and some free time explore this charming town before returning to Paris for dinner and overnight.
June 5 Rouen – Lisieux  
  After breakfast, we travel to Lisieux stopping along the way in Rouen, the former capital of Normandy. Here we will visit the richly decorated 11th century Cathedral of Notre Dame and see the remains of St. Joan of Arc, the Patron Saint of France. Continue on to Lisieux, the town of St. Therese the “Little Flower.” Here we will enjoy a tour of the home of St. Therese whom Pope Pius X called "the greatest saint of modern times." Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Saint Therese, one of the biggest and most magnificent religious structures built in the 20th-century. Then stop at Les Buissonets, St. Therese's family home, where her relics, clothing, and personal objects are on display, and the “Carmel,” which was St. Therese’s convent. Dinner and overnight in Lisieux.
June 6 Normandy Beaches – Mont St Michelle  
  After breakfast we will head to the coast for our tour of the Normandy beaches, site of the infamous "D Day landings." We will begin with a visit to a D-Day museum where we will see a film and learn about the extraordinary events of the day that changed the course of World War II. Afterward we will visit the landing sites for US Forces at Utah and Omaha Beaches, pray at the American Cemetery and Sainte-Mère-Église. Later we will travel to le Mont Saint Michel, a glorious sanctuary built on a place where St. Michael the Archangel appeared three times. Consecrated in 709 and designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979, the great church and monastery attracts pilgrims from around the world. Here you will have Mass and have time to take in the magnificent views of the surrounding bay, which is said to have the greatest tidal ranges in Europe, before returning to Lisieux for dinner and overnight.
June 7 Lisieux – Paris – New Orleans  
  Early transfer to Paris airport for return flights to the USA.
