June 7 - 20, 2021
Day 1 – Depart New Orleans for Europe
Depart New Orleans on your connecting flights to Europe. Dinner and breakfast are served aboard transatlantic flight.
Day 2 - Arrive Italy
Arrive in Rome and meet your tour escort outside of baggage claim. Transfer to the magnificent Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls for Mass. Enjoy a Panoramic Tour on the way to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 3 – Rome
Attend the Papal Audience this morning in St Pater’s Square. This afternoon you will visit the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the largest church dedicated to the Virgin Mary which contains a relic from the manger of the infant Jesus. After Mass and a tour, continue on to the Basilica of St. John the Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome, and the Sancta Scala (the Holy Stairs) which are the steps upon which Jesus walked when condemned to death at Pilate’s palace in Jerusalem. Time permitting visit the catacombs of St Sebastian where the early Christians hid themselves to escape persecution. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 4 – Rome/Bolsena/Orvieto/Assisi
Begin with early morning Mass at St Peter’s Basilica, followed by a visit through the largest Church in Christendom built on the site where St. Peter was martyred. Marvel at Michelangelo’s magnificent Pieta and Bernini's amazing bronze canopy, and have time to pray at the tomb of Saint John Paul II. Enjoy a tour of the Sistine Chapel and admire Michelangelo’s masterpiece, The Last Judgement. Afterwards depart for Assisi, stopping in Bolsena to see the church where the Eucharistic Miracle took place in 1263, and in Orvieto to visit the grand cathedral where the miraculous host and the Corporal stained with Blood are on display. Continue to Assisi for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – Assisi
Celebrate Mass and enjoy a guided visit of the Basilica of St. Francis, followed by a walking tour of the City of Peace, visiting the Church of St. Clare to see her tomb and the Cross of San Damiano, which spoke to St. Francis, saying “Go rebuild My house.” The afternoon is free to explore the Cathedral of San Rufino or the Church of San Damiano, and try the specialties of the region including olive oil, truffles, Norcia sausage and cheeses. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 6 – Assisi/Siena/Assisi
Enjoy a day trip to Siena, beginning with Mass at St. Francis Basilica, site of the Eucharistic Miracle followed by a walking tour of Siena to visit the Basilica of St. Domenico, site of the relic of St. Catherine of Siena, and the famous Duomo. Enjoy a stroll through the Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful squares in all of Italy, and an afternoon at your leisure before returning to Assisi for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – Assisi/Dubrovnik
After early breakfast depart for Fiumicino airport to catch your flight to Dubrovnik. Upon arrival, you will meet your Guide who will escort you to the Medieval Walled City where you will see the Church of St. Blase, the Patron Saint of Dubrovnik, and have time to explore on your own. In the afternoon you will drive up the scenic Adriatic Coast on your way to Medjugorje. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.
Day 8 to 13 - Medjugorje
Here are some of the activities planned for the week:
Daily Mass: Each morning, at 10:00am (noon on Sunday), the group will assemble at St. James Church for Mass and the blessing of religious articles immediately following.
Climb Apparition Hill: Recite the Rosary while climbing the hill to the place where the visionaries first allegedly encountered Our Lady.
Apparitions: Join the villagers and fellow pilgrims in praying the Rosary in St. James Church at 6pm, and stay for the alleged apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries at 6:40pm. Stay for the Croatian Mass the Blessing of the Sick immediately following.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Our Lady has always called us to be close to Her Son. Join fellow pilgrims for Adoration on Tuesday and Saturday at the outside altar of St. James Church, and for Veneration of the Cross on Friday inside the church. Adoration is also available in the Chapel every afternoon.
Meetings with the Visionaries: Pending their availability, the guide will arrange meetings with the visionaries.
Visit to the Community of Cenacolo: Founded by the Sisters of Charity, Cenacolo is a community for young men and women who have lost their way in life, and are on the road to recovery. We will hear their inspirational words about their journeys back to Jesus Christ.
Prayer at the Statue of the Risen Christ: Pray at the bronze statue located on the grounds of St. James Church, and witness the droplets of water that miraculously seep out of Christ's right knee.
Day 14- Medjugorje - USA
After an early breakfast, depart for Sarajevo (Split or Dubrovnik) Airport for return flights to the USA.
