Proposed Itinerary

Day 1 – McAllen - Krakow
Depart McAllen, TX for your connecting flights to Krakow. Dinner and breakfast will be served aboard transatlantic flight.

Day 2 - Krakow
Upon arrival in Krakow Airport you will find your luggage and exit into the arrivals hall where you will meet your tour guide, board your private motor coach and transfer to your hotel. This evening we celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving followed by dinner and overnight in Krakow.

Day 3 - Krakow – Divine Mercy Shrine
Today we will visit Lagiewniki, the capital of the Divine Mercy. It was here that the message of the Divine Mercy originated, which Christ Himself wished to pass on to our generation through the mediation of St. Faustina. Here we will see the image of the Merciful Jesus and have Mass at the convent chapel near the tomb of St Faustina. In the afternoon, we will also visit the Shrine of Divinity dedicated by St. John Paul II on his last visit to Poland in 2002 and visit the new center "Have no Fear" where we pray by the relic of St. John Paul II. Return to hotel in Krakow for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – FULL DAY Excursion to Czestochowa
After breakfast we will travel north to Czestochowa, home of the greatest pilgrimage shrine in Poland. We will have Mass at Jasna Gora Monastery where the Miraculous Icon of the Black Madonna is located, and where St. John Paul II was known to make frequent visits throughout his life. After time for prayer and lunch, we will view the priceless treasures located in the Museum before traveling back to Krakow.

Day 5 - Auschwitz - Wadowice
This morning we will travel to Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi concentration camp where unspeakable atrocities occurred. We will see the cell that imprisoned St. Maximillian Kolbe and the Martyrdom Museum recalling the horrors of the Holocaust. In the afternoon we will go to Wadowice, the birthplace of Karol Wojtyla (St. John Paul II) and celebrate Mass in the church he attended and in which he was baptized as a child. We will visit his childhood home, now a museum containing relics and artifacts from throughout his life, before returning to Krakow for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 - Krakow (Old Town) and Wieliczka Salt Mine
Today we begin by exploring Krakow's Market Square and hear the silver trumpet of the bugler from St. Mary's Tower. We will then have Mass inside St. Mary’s Basilica and admire the extraordinary Wit Stwosz altar. From here we will then walk to the Wawel Castle and visit the Royal Cathedral, the church of the Polish Kings for over 400 years. We will tour the Cathedral, the Coronation Chapel and the Royal Chambers where a superb collection of Arras tapestries are on view. In the afternoon, we will visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, which is famous for many things – most notably the St. Kinga Chapel which is located about 330 feet underground, measures roughly 5,000 square feet of floor space, and is 36 feet tall. It is decorated with bas-relief carvings in rock salt depicting important scenes in Jesus’ life and it has two giant chandeliers made completely out of salt crystals hang from the ceiling.

Day 7 – Optional Day Trip to Zakopane and the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Krzeptowki.
After breakfast, we will drive through the mountains to the small village of Zakopane. Along the way we will visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Krzeptowki. Completed in 1992, the great church was built as a votive offering of gratitude for the recovery of Pope John Paul II after his assassination attempt on May 13, 1981, and the church was consecrated by Pope John Paul II himself on June 7, 1997 during his pilgrimage to Poland. From here we will proceed to town and take a cable car ride to the nearby mountaintop. At the top, we will have time to take in the magnificent panoramic views, and possibly take a carriage ride along the ridge path. Back at the bottom of the mountain we will have time to shop in at the local bazaar and have lunch on colorful Krupowki Street. On the way back to Krakow we will visit the Jaszczorowka Chapel. This architecturally distinct chapel was visited many times by the young, Karol Wojtyla (Saint John Paul II). As a young boy, Karol Wojtyla often used the walking paths surrounding the Jaszczorowka Chapel for much prayer and reflection. Enjoy a beautiful dinner and an optional stroll through the old city before retiring for the evening.

Day 8 - Krakow - USA
This morning you will transfer to the John Paul II International airport for your return flights to the USA.

OR

Day 8 - Optional extension to Medjugorje
After breakfast, you will depart for the John Paul II International airport for your connecting flights to Sarajevo. Upon arrival you will find your luggage and exit the baggage claim into the arrivals hall where you will be greeted by your Medjugorje Guide and transferred to the village of Medjugorje. Day 9 to 11 - Medjugorje
Over the next three days you will experience the beauty and peace of the simple village of Medjugorje. During your stay you will have the opportunity to share your faith with pilgrims from all over the world. Some activities that will accompany you in your spiritual journey:

Attend Daily Mass: Each morning, at 10AM your group will assemble at St. James Church for English Mass (Noon on Sundays.) At the end of each Mass, there is a blessing of the religious articles that you have with you.

Climb Apparition Hill: Here you will witness the exact location of the first alleged apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries. When climbing, your group is invited to recite the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary.

Climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain): In 1933, the villagers built a 30' high cross atop a mountain to commemorate Jesus' passion and death on the cross. When climbing, your group will pause 15 times to pray at the Stations of he Cross along the way.

Apparitions: Each evening at 6PM your group will join the villagers in praying the Rosary at St. James Church, with a pause at 6:40PM, the time when Our Lady allegedly appears to the visionaries. The Croatian Mass begins at 7PM with a Blessing of the Sick immediately following.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Our Lady has always called us to be close to her Son. For this, you will have the opportunity to adore the Blessed Sacrament at the outside altar of St. James Church. Adoration is held on Tuesdays and Saturdays; Veneration of the Cross is held on Fridays inside the church. Additionally, there is an Adoration Chap-el on the grounds of St. James Church open for prayer in the afternoon. Meetings with the Visionaries: Pending their availability, your guide will arrange meetings with the visionaries at their homes.

Visit to the Community of Cenacolo: You will have the opportunity to visit the community of Cenacolo, founded by the Sisters of Charity, for young men and women who have taken a wrong path and are on the road to recovery. You will be able to listen to their inspirational words about their journeys back to Jesus Christ.

Prayer at the Statue of the Risen Christ: Located on the grounds of St. James Church, is the bronze statue of the Risen Christ. Many pilgrims sit and pray on the benches surrounding this peaceful statue. This statue miraculously seeps droplets of water at all times of the day, out of Christ's right knee.
